Title:Cruciate ligament rupture - healing without surgery
There are always better ways to surgically repair a torn cruciate ligament. However, this is often followed by months of absence from work - a problem even for non-professional footballers. rbb Praxis accompanied a patient who wants to get her knee back into shape without surgery. She took part in a research project at Berlin's Charité hospital, which is investigating precisely these questions: Can training be an alternative to surgery? And can arthrosis, the dreaded consequence of a cruciate ligament rupture, be prevented in this way?
